Finis Mort

Hello,

I awoke this morning in contemplation of death. Specifically in reference to a handful of near-death experiences I have had in previous years. I considered delving deep into the topic for this week’s post but ultimately decided to express my thoughts to you in the form of a poem. I feel this form of presentation can better illustrate my qualms in a way that is accurate to my beliefs. I have encountered many phenomenal entities, some deviant and some cordial. Each time I am graced by their presence, my yearning for understanding exponentially multiplies. Understanding of the human capability to join God/Gods in their unblemished divinity.

I spent quite a bit of time ensuring this piece of literary work remained congenial to my perception of life after death. I hope you study, dissect, and enjoy it. It is an acrostic poem both in beginning and ending letters. It is composed of eleven sentences and each sentence contains eleven words, my lucky number.

This is my written expression of death’s spectacle.

Finis Mort

Sacrament obliges thine vow of culpable abasement and blights my sins.

Adorn this pupa amidst closing acts, eventide swellings missing like acardia.

Youth hath halted, effervescing, and bursting to gesture a tocsin unsolicited.

God escapes the lips of his prototypical mistake, convicted faith aloof.

Oaken shell absolved from soul, no longer in season of acacia.

Oh Yom, Oh Yom, empirical depiction illustrates impossible in your abri.

Dactylology substitutes babble to evince perfect fractals exuding abaxially and interdimensional.

Biblical scripture cradles psychedelic causality, whilst sails meander parallel to Anu.

Yawls deployed, the inescapable void personifies tangent regret, a menial door.

Enter your final reverie, as verisimilitude transmogrifies fortified faith into acceptance.

Sanguine coagulation, assume now your celestial contour, eternally in his graces.

Let me know what you think. My intended format for the poem may not display properly on mobile devices so please check it out on a laptop or desktop if possible! Thank you.

(The artwork is of a malevolent being I once encountered in a dream. I illustrated it in a style that suits my own.)
