About

Hello, my name is Dan, and welcome to That’s Mind. A little corner of the internet I created to log my thoughts, philosophies, and ideas on life and my existence. I am a 27-year-old no-one. I am a voracious overthinker and most often end up belaboring on the most trivial of subjects. Now I acknowledge this trait can be quite annoying to family, friends, coworkers, partners, etc., so this space will serve as an everchanging construction site for my lovely (that’s a joke) idiosyncrasies. And yes, That’s Mind is a play on words for the phrase “That’s mine.” As in this space is mine for my mind!

Personal Interests

Art – Any form of expression which gives insight into the mind of an individual holds a special place in my heart. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, music, presentations, and writings to name a few, all deeply affect me. Art is inspiring, beautiful, ugly, hurtful, deceitful, and honest. Moreso than any creature I have encountered in this life.

Academics – Throughout my teenage years I severely despised school and opposed any form of academia because I felt it only served to stunt my imagination and change me as a person. Little did I realize life is an amalgamation of shifting beliefs and experiences. A force of immeasurable potential energy relative to your attitude and level of optimism/pessimism. As I began to experience more, (and my teenage hormones learned to behave) I developed an acute longing for knowledge that could only be obtained through disciplined studies. Please understand that I do not use the term, “disciplined studies,” to imply any form of learning is greater than another. I am referring to the literal consistent growth and intentional expansion of your ideas through means of studying, experimenting, and hypothesizing any and all of your curiosities.

Spirituality/Paranormal Anomalies – I must admit, even as a self-proclaimed Academic, I immensely enjoy anything to do with religion, ghosts, outer-dimensional beings, and supernatural occurrences. My imagination does not allow me to err on either side of probability with these subjects. Are we truly in the presence of Gods, or are we as humans just unaware of our capability to be god-like? I will likely never make a definitive decision on this subject, and I wouldn’t ever want to. Why destroy the unknown with decisiveness?

What’s the Purpose?

Truly, this space is to satisfy a longing in my being to contribute something unique to this life. I intend on using this platform to share any and all thoughts I have along the way in my personal journey toward the void. Maybe my thoughts and ideas will prove valuable to those who consume them. Or maybe not. But I can tell you this. That’s Mind will be the most honest account of human life you ever read.
